Multicultural Collaborative Learning Program in Kasama
-Propose Ideas to Promote Inbound Tourism in Kasama! –
Program Dates: November 7, November 21-22, and December 5 (all held on weekends)
We are calling for participants for a multicultural collaborative learning program in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Why not take on the challenge of solving real-world community issues while building connections with fellow students, local residents, and businesses in the beautiful autumn setting of Kasama?
Kasama is nationally known for its Kasama ware pottery, Kasama Inari Shrine, and chestnuts. Despite its rich attractions, including history, art, and local cuisine, the city faces challenges in attracting more international visitors and further developing its tourism industry.
In this program, students from Ibaraki University and University of Tsukuba will work together in multicultural teams. Participants will learn directly from representatives of the Kasama City Government, the Tourism Association, and local businesses. By exploring the city firsthand, students will gain a deeper understanding of local challenges from a student perspective and develop practical proposals to address them. Your proposals will be considered for potential implementation in Kasama City. In addition, with support from our partner organization, LEIDEAS Co., Ltd., there may be opportunities for you to further develop and even realize your ideas through internship programs.
This is a valuable opportunity to deepen your intercultural understanding through engagement with local communities and businesses while developing practical problem-solving skills through teamwork. We encourage you to apply!
