★ A limited number of international students can also try wearing a yukata! Please check the details below if you’d like to apply.
★ We’ve prepared Tanabata bamboo branches and wish cards in the Student Commons! Feel free to decorate the event space with your wishes and messages♪

【Who Can Join】All University of Tsukuba students
【Schedule and Activities】
◆ 2:15 PM – Fashion Show
⇒If you’d like to join the fashion show, please come wearing traditional clothing or something representing your country or a country connected to you! Even a small accessory or item is totally okay. No advance registration required!
◆ 2:30 PM – Presentations on different cultures
⇒Students will introduce fashion and culture from their countries! Some presenters have already been invited in advance, but we also welcome spontaneous presentations on the day ◎
◆ 3:00 PM – Multicultural Quiz Time!
⇒Let’s learn more about different countries and cultures through fun quiz games♪
【Dress Code】
・If you’d like to join the fashion show, please wear traditional clothing or something representing your country or a country connected to you. It doesn’t need to be formal or elaborate, even a small item or accessory is welcome! No registration needed. Joining the fashion show is completely optional, so if you’d just like to dress up and enjoy the event without going on stage, that’s perfectly fine too!
・If you’re only coming to watch, there is no dress code.

・Photos and videos will be taken during the event. They may be used for University of Tsukuba publicity purposes such as the website, social media, and articles. Thank you for your understanding. If you have any concerns about photo/video use, please let us know in advance.

To celebrate the “Summer International Exchange Event – Fashion Show & Quiz!”, we will offer yukata dressing for a limited number of international students. Please read the information below carefully before applying.
【Eligibility】International students currently enrolled at the University of Tsukuba who meet all of the following requirements ① – ④:
【Requirements】
① Able to join the full schedule below with enough time:
・Meet at the Division of Student Exchange at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23 for yukata dressing
・Join Fashion show and Quiz! at 14:15
・Return after 3:30 PM for changing and cleanup
(Please do not cancel at the last minute unless absolutely necessary.)
② If applying with friends, able to participate even if your friends are not selected
③ Have never participated in a yukata dressing experience organized by the Division of Student Exchange before
④ Able to respond promptly to emails from the Division of Student Exchange (We will contact participants several times before the event.)
【How to Apply】
Please apply using the application form below.
※ The application form will open on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
※ The form will close once capacity is reached. Please note that being able to submit the form does NOT guarantee participation.

【Important Notes】
・Since the number of yukata available differs depending on size and style, participation will not necessarily be decided on a first-come, first-served basis.
・We may not be able to accommodate all size or design preferences.
・You may apply together with friends, but each person must submit their own application. Also, applying together does not guarantee that you will both be selected.
・You are welcome to bring your own yukata and dress yourself to participate in the event. If you would like to use a changing room, please contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.
