Dear students,

Are you considering studying abroad in 2027? We invite you to discover the exchange opportunities at FGV School of International Relations (FGV RI) in São Paulo, Brazil, for the 2027.1 semester.

FGV RI offers an international academic environment in one of the largest and most diverse cities in Latin America. Exchange students become part of our academic community and can take courses in areas such as international relations, global governance, international political economy, sustainability, foreign policy, and related fields.

Join our Online Information Sessions

Want to know more about studying at FGV RI and living in São Paulo? Join one of our online information sessions:

September 10, 9:00 AM (São Paulo time)
September 21, 11:00 AM (São Paulo time)

We will talk about:

  • studying at FGV RI and our academic environment;
  • courses available to exchange students and how course selection works;
  • what to expect from academic life at FGV RI;
  • practical aspects of moving to and living in São Paulo as an international student, including accommodation, transportation, costs, and everyday life;

There will also be plenty of time for questions.

Courses and language

FGV RI offers a selection of courses taught in English, totaling approximately 200 contact hours per semester, equivalent to around 20 ECTS. Students who speak Portuguese may also choose from our courses taught in Portuguese.

We do not require an official language proficiency certificate or a minimum GPA from exchange students.

Undergraduate and graduate students

We welcome both undergraduate and graduate exchange students.

FGV RI also has a Master’s Program in International Relations. As the program is relatively small, the number of graduate-level courses offered each semester is limited. Graduate exchange students may also enroll in undergraduate courses.

Interested in studying at FGV RI?

Check with the International Office at your home university for information about nomination requirements, eligibility, and deadlines.

We look forward to meeting you online and, hopefully, welcoming you to FGV RI and São Paulo in 2027!

Best regards from São Paulo,

FGV RI International Office.
